The Ürümqi River originates from Glacier No.1, the northern wing of the Tianger Peak II (4479 m ASL) in the middle of the Tianshan Mountains, which has an average sea level of 3,900 meters (ASL). Over 60% of arable lands are situated at eleva- tions greater than 500 m ASL, with some of them located at elevations greater than 1,500 m ASL. Themineralized units being part of this study are generally striking northwesterly and dipping 15-20 degrees to the southwest.The mine site is located in gentletopography with elevations ranging from 885 to 925 m ASL with a major drainage trending to the north and northwest.
The rate of temperature increase will be higher in low altitude areas such as the subproject sites which are between 10 and 20 m ASL. The elevations of the seven test stands range from approximately 12 to 14 m ASL. The river above YHGS is about 62.6 km long, covering 924 km2 drainage area at an average altitude of 3483 m ASL (figure 1). The majority of these sites, originally recorded during pre-CRD investigations, were discovered between 196 and 231 m ASL and within 0 to 10 m of the original shoreline.
